2. What data we process and why
- Customer requests – name, phone, e-mail (optional), region and town, car details including VIN, part description and photos. Purpose: passing on the request and sharing the contact with at most 2 interested scrapyards. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- IP address and request time – protecting the service against spam and misuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Scrapyards (partners) – company and contact details, login e-mail, payments and credit history. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligations (tax and accounting).
3. Recipients
- Scrapyards that unlock your contact (max. 2). From that moment they process your data as independent controllers, solely to offer you the part.
- Processors: Vercel Inc. (web hosting), Neon Inc. (database, servers in Frankfurt, Germany), Resend (e-mail delivery), Stripe (card payments of scrapyards). Where data is transferred outside the EU, it is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
4. How long
Customer contact details, IP address and photos are automatically deleted (anonymised) 12 months after the request was sent. Scrapyard data is kept for the duration of the account and then as long as tax and accounting laws require.
5. Your rights
